Pencil studies and their printed banner forms at the Creative Climate Fest, held at Scolton Manor Country Park in July 2025. The four pencil studies are different angles on the fortunes of sustainability, from the past to the present. Gerard Winstanley was the first of the studies, one of the key figures in the 17th C Digger Movement – the full weight of the state came down on the heads of these early pioneer communal gardeners. The other three studies explore a few more contemporary themes in the struggles for land justice and a sustainable future. The photographs show the finished banners in situ, suspended from the exhibition hall roof struts.
