The three small sculptures that were eventually to emerge  were developed from an exhibition theme of ‘Set in Stone’. Ceramic, steel and wood were the principal materials, with the ceramic functioning as the ‘stone’ upon which the other elements rest. A number of pencil studies were done until three basic models were finally selected. Through the processes of ceramic modelling, welding and wood modelling the models were gradually built up, and the completed models formed part of a show at the 44AD Gallery in Bath.
